Tiger Woods speaks finally to the world

Tiger Woods has finally agreed to speak to the world about his actions at the TPC Sawgrass golf course this Friday but the entire event is being controlled in Tiger’s usual ‘control freak manner’.
He will address the media but will not allow any questions, will probably make it very brief and lets face it….is doing it because rumors are he plans to announce a comeback.
According to Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg, Tiger plans to apologize for his behavior and discuss his plans for the future. Woods will be speaking with a small group of his friends and colleagues during the news conference.
Tiger will read from a prepared statement. TPC Sawgrass, the golf course in Florida where Tiger is speaking, are working hard to transform the place into a security fortress. Seems staff must clear the area underneath the clubhouse to accommodate Tiger’s convoy of black SUVs. They will drive underneath so that no intruders can hear or see anything Tiger doesn’t want revealed.
The timing, as well, is being criticized by many as it is being held during the Accenture Match Play Championship. This event is being sponsored by one of the many companies that dropped him.
Ernie Els told GolfWeek.com, “It’s selfish … You can write that. Mondays are a good day to make statements, not Friday. This takes a lot away from the golf tournament.”
In the meantime, Tiger has been out for photo ops running. It appears he has timed these knowing he was returning to the world of golf shortly. Is anything genuine with this guy?
Now we would normally say that controlling a press event is not out of the ordinary for celebrities and that personal affairs are a family’s personal business (as noted on Tiger’s website) but this is a celebrity that rose to fame and fortune not only on talent but by flaunting his wholesome family image. For that we find his arrogance rather unacceptable.
It seems to us that Tiger really has no remorse except for the fact that he got caught. His handling of this situation has been a disaster from the beginning and trying to control the situation now only to financially benefit seems appalling.
