Rosie O’Donnell returns to TV on the Oprah network

Oprah TV network debuts with the Rosie O’Donnell new talk show. Rosie O’Donnel will bring her talk show back through the Oprah network. It is the first time Rosie O’Donnell will make a host appearance since she was on ABC’s “The View.”

From 1996 to 2002 she hosted the daytime talk show, “The Rosie O’Donnell Show”. The show proved very successful, winning multiple Emmy awards, and earning O’Donnell the title of “The Queen of Nice” for her style of light-hearted banter with her guests and interactions with the audience. During her five years of hosting, the show won six Emmy Awards. Rosie is excited to begin hosting her own daytime talk show again.
In addition, Rosie co-hosted on the talk show “The View”. The show won an Emmy for “Outstanding Special Class Writing” for a specially themed Autism episode broadcast when O’Donnell was co-hosting. “She is a true original who brings the authentic voice, dynamic energy and pure passion to everything she does,” stated Oprah. Oprah feels that Rosie has an undeniable talent and has the capability to captivate TV audiences.
According to the network, viewers can expect “a fun, uplifting show with Ms. O’Donnell’s playful and energetic style. ” Rosie’s new show will be based out of New York and is scheduled to premiere in the fall of 2011. “It’s an honor and a privilege to work with Oprah Winfrey on her new network,” Rosie O’Donnell said in a statement.
