Oprah still promotes Amazon despite public outrage

Oprah‘s show this week featured the ‘secret family’ of Michael Jackson along with Jonathan Franzen. Not unusual for the Queen of TV to provide some giveaways at the end of her show as it has become somewhat of a trademark but what did hit us what that the company involved was Amazon.

Now lets face it Amazon is huge but there are other companies that can provide e-readers and books but Oprah chose to have Amazon. Why is this a little disturbing. Well, seems this is the same company that refused to pull child porno and instruction manuals on how to basically rape children from its site even after they were showcased night after night on CNN.
Public outcry did eventually get the initial books pulled only to have videos surfaced. We are still not sure why the government has not charged the company as a US government spokesperson spoke on camera to CNN stating she believed they could be charged.
Now Oprah has been very vocal about her concern/support re: protecting children. Many Michael Jackson fans have, in fact, accused her of benefiting over the years off MJ and even on death her shows ratings hit the roof whenever she features anything about the King of Pop. To many, she seems to either air child molestation specials around episodes about MJ and she continuously mentions the charges everytime anyone talks about the late singer.
So we are now forced to ask….Oprah why would you on the same show or any show promote anything connected to a company that showed such complete disregard to the safety of children? This company did not give a ‘crap’ that this instruction manual and other books told people how to molest children, how to get away with it, that it was OK to have sex with children without using condoms, etc.
We are hearing from outraged viewers who believe Oprah supports when it is convenient and profits whenever possible.
Just to be clear….the boycott of Amazon has continued by customers who continue to be outraged by the behavior from this company. For many, they insist that a permanent boycott be continued.
