Brittany Murphy‘s cause of death has been determined — an accidental death caused by “community acquired pneumonia,” iron deficiency anemia, and multiple drug intoxication. The L.A. County Coroner concludes on the subject of “How injury occurred” as “Drug intake.” The official word now is that pneumonia killed her but if she had seeked treatment she could have been saved.
Now we reported earlier that Brittany Murphy‘s drug use was being seriously questioned as the L.A. County Coroner’s Office is trying to find out what might of caused such a young woman to die. To clear up some issues, Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter paid a visit to Brittany’s husband, Simon Monjack, and her mother, Sharon Murphy yesterday.

Reports are now surfacing that a man who worked at Brittany Murphy’s house has told the Coroner’s Office that someone would deliver a sealed, manila envelope to the house every Friday filled with prescription medications in bottles with the name “Lola” on it.
Sources say the ex-employee told the Coroner drugs were also mailed from Los Angeles to Louisiana where Brittany was shooting a movie. Simon was apparently in Louisiana in the months before she died.
One of the questions apparently being asked is why was there no record of Brittany seeing a doctor in the months before her death, especially because she had several medical conditions and was experiencing severe abdominal pains days before her death?
